“Who Rules the Roost?”
Deuteronomy 17:14-20
Sermon Notes 05/12/2024
Is your roost ruled by your gifts or the Gift-giver? (Deut 17:14, James 1:17).
It is unwise to let a fox rule the roost (Deut 17:15, Pro. 13:20).
It is ruinous to let rapacity, relapse and restlessness rule the roost (Deut 17:16-17, Ephesians 4:17-32).
It is life to let the light of God’s Word rule the roost in your reasoning (Deut. 17:18-20, Matthew 4:4, Acts 12:20-24, Hebrews 4:12).
If Jesus isn’t ruling your roost, the fox of destruction is on the loose.
You will stand before God without excuse.
For Jesus died and rose again to be
the Ruler of the roost, bringing true happiness to the world through His grace, love and truth.
You’ve heard it said:
“If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”
Well… if you ain’t happy in Jesus, you
ain’t never gonna be truly happy
so give mama a break.
Who is ruling your roost?
