Walnut Word of the Day - OVERWHELMED
Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
In the Bible, in Ezekiel 3:4-15, the prophet finds himself sitting among hard-headed, stubborn-hearted, rebellious people, and he is supposed to share the Word of God with them, “whether they hear or refuse to hear.” Then Ezekiel is lifted up and hears a great voice saying, “Blessed be the glory of the Lord from its place.” The prophet is then called to be on a mission for the God of Israel, spending seven days sitting overwhelmed among these obstinate, cold-hearted, rebellious people he is meant to minister to.
A calling and mission from God can seem overwhelming and impossible, but those indwelt by the Spirit of Christ must remember that what is impossible for people is possible through God. Christ lives in the believer to empower us to speak the truth and share the good news about Jesus “whether they hear or refuse to hear.” When you feel overwhelmed by life and your mission for God, sit with the Lord, soak in His truth, His love, and His mercy. Sing His praises, seek His strength, and stand firm.
It is okay to feel overwhelmed, but we must “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).
May God be your strength today,
