Hebrews 12:1-6,28-29
Sermon Notes 11/19/2023
To run the race with gratitude, pay attention to an ungrateful mindset and shake it off by choosing not to carry anything beyond the responsibilities entrusted to you by God (vs 1).
To run with thankfulness, pay attention to the persistence of unrepentant sin which nurtures selfishness and breeds ingratitude. To break free from this cycle, shake it off and choose to repent(vs 1).
To run the race with gratitude, remember, unrepentant sin thrives in the garden of complacency, but it will struggle to cling to a believer who is actively engaged in moving and shaking for God’s Kingdom (vs 1).
To run gratefully and finish faithfully keep looking to Jesus (vs 2-3).
When running the race set before us, embrace the race God has specifically assigned to you rather than longing for a different course (Hebrews 11:32-38;12:4-5).
When running the race set before us, trust in the Lord’s loving discipline (vs 7).
When running the race set before us, remember the prize is a kingdom that cannot be shaken (vs 28-29).
