A verse to meditate on today is Proverbs 9:10: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” Starting something new can be overwhelming and fear-inducing. It can be frightening to start going to church, ask questions about the Bible, or tell someone about Jesus. How do we overcome fear so that we can grow in our faith and battle against ungodly habits of sin and selfishness? The greatest way to overcome fear is to remember that God is greater. Cultivate a loving respect for God. Relish the awe-inspiring power of the God of the Bible, who spoke the world into existence and so loved you that He sent His One and Only Son. When you live in the truth that the God of the universe abides in you through Christ Jesus, you begin to walk in wisdom instead of hiding in fear.

May we live in respectful awe of the all-powerful God who has shown us His love by sending Jesus Christ.
