“Loving Life & Seeing Good Days”
1 Peter 3:8-22
Sermon Notes 09/03/2023
Loving life and seeing good days is fueled by staying connected, sympathetic, loving, compassionate and humble (vs 8).
Loving life and seeing good days is cultivated by keeping the tongue from evil, not returning insult for insult but giving a blessing instead and speaking truthfully not with deceit (vs 9-10).
Loving life and seeing good days is defended by remembering that Christ is Holy and He is Lord over suffering, fear and intimidation (vs 11-15).
Loving life and seeing good days is living ready to give a defense for the hope that Jesus Christ is Holy and He is Lord (vs 15).
Loving life and seeing good days is sharing Jesus with gentleness, respect and a clear conscience letting Christ-centered living put accusers to shame (vs 16).
Loving life and seeing good days is discovered by redefining words like “life” and “good” through patient perseverance in withstanding difficult situations. Remember it is better to suffer for doing good (vs 17).
Loving life and seeing good days is continually drawing close to God through the sacrificial life, death, resurrection and Lordship of Jesus Christ (vs 18-22).
When Jesus becomes life for you, death becomes victory.
When Jesus defines what is good for you, suffering has meaning and purpose that is saving, sanctifying, satisfying and secure.
Jesus declared in John 14:6 that He is the Way and the Truth and the Life.
Do you love Him as the Way?
Do you define what is good according to His truth?
Do you find meaning and purpose in your life through Him?
