“Jesus Jumping Joy” Luke 2:8-21
Sermon Notes 12/17/2023
When the shepherds followed God’s command and went to see Jesus, their initial fear transformed into overwhelming, (Jesus jumping)joy as they witnessed the presence of the Savior(Luke 2:20).
Jesus jumping joy is not dependent on external circumstances but is rooted in our relationship with God. It is a deep and abiding sense of gladness, contentment, and hope that comes from knowing God and trusting in God. It is a deep sense of well-being that goes beyond our circumstances.
Joy comes from the Lord in good times and bad.
Jump for joy about salvation (Psalm 20:5-8; Isaiah 12:1-6)
Jump for joy about justice (Psalm 67:1-5).
Jump for joy in the midst of challenges and difficulties for the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Jump for joy and celebrate growth in the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
Jump for joy and believe that what God is creating is bigger and better than what you are enduring (James 1:2-3).
Pray: Lord, I have been living with… great guilt, great sin, great fear, great shame, help me to jump out of it and fill my heart with your great joy.
