“Above All Keep Loving…”
1 Peter 4:1-11
Sermon Notes 09/10/2023
Above all keep loving by arming yourself with the sacrificial love of Jesus. When you live in the grip of Christ’s love you no longer live in the grip of sin (vs 1).
Above all keep loving by living each day for the will of God and in His Spirit (vs 2-6).
Above all keep loving by being return-oriented, self-controlled and sober-minded (vs 7).
Above all keep loving through earnest care and concern by pointing people to Christ’s love which covers a multitude of sins (vs 8).
Above all keep pouring out Christ’s love through hospitality without grumbling (vs 9).
Above all keep loving by displaying Christ’s love through God given gifts that glorify God(vs10-11).
Are you living in His grip? Are you armed? Are you living in His will, self-controlled, sober-minded, return-oriented, earnest, hospitable and using your gifts to glorify God?
INVITATION:
Being saved by His grace through believing faith means totally relying upon God to keep on loving one another and keep our relationship with God above every other relationship in our life. Are you totally relying upon God?
Are you saved?
Is God your first love?
You have to start to finish, have you trusted in Christ?
Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turning from your sin.
By faith receive Jesus as God’s Son and accept His gift of forgiveness from sin. He took the penalty for your sin by dying on the cross.
Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Risen Savior and Lord. You may pray a prayer similar to this as you call on God to save you:
“Dear God, I know that You love me. I confess my sin and need of salvation. I turn away from sin and place my faith in Jesus as my Risen Savior and Lord. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.”
